Run out of Southeast Michigan by two friends with a lifelong obsession with great sound — and a low tolerance for the mysticism that surrounds it.
A DIY passion, passed down.
CSS was founded by Bob Reimer, whose drivers earned a devoted following in the DIY community. In June 2017 he passed the company to us, and we've spent the years since bringing back the great drivers CSS is known for — and designing new kits that make world-class speakers achievable for anyone with a weekend and a screwdriver.
We're 50% veteran-owned and operated, we answer our own phones, and every product that leaves the workshop is something we'd happily put in our own listening rooms. CSS was born from the same passion our customers have — that's still what runs the place.
What we believe
Room-purifying crystals need not apply.
Proven theory and methodology, validated by countless hours of driver testing and acoustic evaluation. If it doesn't show up in the data or the listening, it doesn't ship.
We will never sell you pseudo-science or inferior products in the name of profit. Every component earns its place with a real, audible performance benefit.
We're not the cheapest, and we don't try to be. We build the best speakers your money can buy — and let you keep the markup by building them yourself.
